How to install Clearpick - Variant Galleries.
Follow these steps to install and configure Clearpick - Variant Galleries for your Shopify store.
1Install the app
- Go to the Clearpick - Variant Galleries listing in the Shopify App Store.
- Click the green Add app button to begin installation.
- Review the permissions and click Install app to authorize Clearpick - Variant Galleries to access your store.
Permissions Required: Read and write products, and read and write content (for images).
2Sync your products
- After installation, you'll be redirected to the Clearpick - Variant Galleries dashboard in your Shopify admin.
- Click the Sync All from Shopify button to import all your products with variants.
- Wait for the sync to complete. This may take a few moments depending on your catalog size.
Note: Only products with 2 or more variants will be shown. Single-variant products don't need variant-specific images.
3Assign variant images
- Click Manage Variants on any product to configure its variant images.
- Drag images from the top image pool to the variant tabs below.
- Add custom variant descriptions to highlight specific features or details (optional).
- Click Save All Changes to save your configuration.
Pro Tip: You can drag images within a variant to reorder them. The first image will be the main image for that variant.
4Add to your storefront
- Go to Online Store → Themes → Customize in your Shopify admin.
- In the theme editor, navigate to any product page template.
- Click Add block and select Variant Image Gallery from the Apps section.
- Click Save in the theme editor. Your variant gallery is now active!
Important: The app block should be added to your product page template. It works invisibly in the background to update your existing product images.
5Test your setup
- Open a product page on your storefront that has variant images configured.
- Click on different variant options (colors, sizes, etc.) and watch the images update automatically!
What You Should See: Product images update to show only the selected variant's images, the variant description appears (if configured), and extra images are hidden automatically.
Troubleshooting
Images not updating when selecting variants?
- Make sure you've added the "Variant Image Gallery" app block to your product page in the theme editor.
- Verify that you've assigned images to variants in the app admin.
- Clear your browser cache and try again.
Products not showing in the app?
- Only products with 2 or more variants are shown.
- Click "Sync All from Shopify" to refresh your product list.
- Make sure your products have variants in Shopify.
